Mau cantik ka ndak?

Will you look at the time. 7:42am and I’m still awake. I’ve been having trouble sleeping lately and it’s getting worse because what used to be 4am for my bedtime has now turned into 11am. Yup. I’ve become Dracula. Minus the fangs. And the desire for blood. Oh, and the jet black hair. Do I burn when sunlight hits me? I dunno. Haven’t tried it lately. *shrugs

Shemah and I did a lot of catching up just now. She hasn’t been sleeping well too since Danial passed away. Poor thing. So since I’ve got my connection working, we chatted for a few hours, mostly about home. Oh, and also about ‘jus peria’ or bitter melon juice! Haha. Lemme tell you how Shemah convinced me to WANT to drink bitter melon juice..

As some of you might know, my sis Shemah was hospitalized several months ago because of this really weird viral infection that mainly affected both her legs. So long story short, the doctors were never really able to cure it 100%. So Mom told her to opt for a traditional way of healing and what she hadta do was drink the juice of half a bitter melon. Every. Single. Day. Dang, that’s a LOT! She started drinking a couple of weeks ago and just now, she told me that the juice had done wonders not only on her legs but also her skin. Even my Mom and my maid jumped on the bitter melon juice bandwagon and both of them claimed they saw remarkable results. My Mom would do anything for beauty. I’d remember her telling me to eat so many weird things and when I refused, she’d say, “Mau cantik ka ndak??!!(d’ya wanna be pretty or not?). Sometimes I’d say no. Hehehe. But this time I’m thinkinggg… Yes Mommy, I do! :P Apparently, after drinking the bitter melon juice, my maid’s pimples started to clear up and my Mom’s friend also noticed the difference in my Mom’s skin. When Shemah told me that, I instantly perked up..

Shemah and I always joked how we wanted to have that certain face. That face that looked like you have a lightbulb in your head and your face just glows from within. So Shemah was telling me that she was starting to notice the lightbulb look on her. I want a lightbulb too!!!

So that’s how I got hooked on this ‘jus peria’ beauty tip. It’s peria for god sake! Bitter as hell! But for the sake of beauty??? I guess I could spare a couple of ringgit to have the lightbulb look. And also spare the death of my tastebuds. All in the name of beauty.

p/s: On another note, check out this super adorable brand called Tea Collection for kids! Sangat cute!

how to make the juice. just blend the peria and drink like that? no sugar nothing?

chegu, just cut it in half, slice it up, don’t buang the biji and put just a LITTLE bit of water.. sebab the peria is easy to blend also kan.. quite watery. After that, you just tapis the hampas.. and drink one glass a day. :D

Good luck, Roz!! Good luck, Chegu!

But yeahh.. better drink jus peria than makan lightbulb right?? LOL!! tapi nanti you balik, you must minum ah.. I ask ani to blend for you also.. hehehehe..

p/s: The bigger ones are less pahit.. the smaller and the ones with keriting lines are very very pahit. :) Mom believes that the pahit-er, the better.

bah, blend awayyy.. i think if got kawan minum then better.. and we can laugh at each other for having grass breath! hahaha!

ok. copied.
let’s see if i can endure the ‘pahitness’ and say, “one peria juice a day, keeps the pimples away” after a month’s time.

I’ve tried that before! But just for a day because the juice is just so difficult to swallow, not to mention the smell! As I was swallowing the juice, I couldn’t help but to gag!

Results?

After half an hour, I went to answer nature’s BIG call, and it was smooth operation all the way. The colour has a greenish tinge to it too. Disgusting, I know. :P

Gee, sounds good, want to try for good skin too, but not sure if I will actually get round to it. The taste sounds hard to swallow.
